About Managed Operations
Managed Operations (MO) is one of our key business areas offering a range of services and solutions to our clients. We enable our customers to run and transform their IT infrastructure operations in an innovative and cost effective way so it maximises its potential and flexibility as well as meeting future business needs.
The activities involve the management and optimisation of a client’s entire information and data processing environment, including data centres, core infrastructure services, utility-based computing, network management and desktop support operations. MO manages these services through the full project lifecycle – evaluate, design, consult, build and operate.
We have the right expertise in business process outsourcing, global sourcing and off-shoring to help enterprises through the increasingly complex challenge of managing their IT infrastructures and transforming their operational processes.
About the role
As a graduate working in Managed Operations you will join one of two areas:
Cores Services
This area offers clients a full range of operational support, including Service Desk, Networks and Security, Technical Services and Desktop Services. The team are engaged in the ongoing delivery to customers through the effective deployment of their specialist skills. Our focus on this is vital to achieving and exceeding Service Levels, improving client satisfaction and driving efficiencies whilst ensuring that our standard services evolve with the market and our client demands.
As a graduate joining Core Services you will generally enter a team providing Technical Support – giving an excellent opportunity to gain technical experience and expertise while learning about what and how we deliver.
So you will need the motivation to pursue a technical role, particularly in the early stages of your career. In the long term whether this opportunity takes your career in a technical or business focused direction is down to your skills and abilities and your own ambitions.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for graduates with a good degree in technical or business related degree subject combined with the drive and motivation to pursue a career in the IT industry. You will also need to be a good team player with strong communication skills. If you are extremely customer-focused and want to ensure we deliver a quality service to our clients combined with an interest in the hardware, infrastructure and outsourcing side of IT, then you should consider a career in Managed Operations.
It is a good option if you are interested in a career that gives you a combination of technical and commercial experience, and early exposure to customers. There are opportunities to move into team leading and other areas of management later on, however you will need to have the desire to develop yourself and the self motivation to attain your career goals.
Managed Operations is distributed over a number of locations around the UK either at Atos Origin sites or at our customers’ offices, and as a new graduate you will be based at one of our various offices throughout the UK. However you will need to be flexible as your assignments may require you to work away from your base location. In addition for many roles you may also be required to provide on-call support.
Also candidates may need to go through HM government security clearance and all applicants will therefore need a continuous UK residency history for the last 5 years.
Training & benefits
So what is in this for you? Our benefits include 25 days holiday and the ability to buy up to five more, season ticket loan, private healthcare, pension plan, £5,000 interest free loan and a package of flexible benefits that you are able to tailor to meet your own requirements.
Whichever area you join, you will receive a thorough induction, together with a personal development plan and appropriate technical and non-technical training that will help you to succeed within our business. We will also support you in gaining relevant and appropriate professional qualifications.
