21-year-old Craig Pickering earned his place in the 100m and the 4x100m relay after a fine performance at the British Olympic athletics trials in July.
With a personal best of 10.14 seconds, Pickering has won medals at
both junior and senior level, including the 2003 World Youth 100m bronze, European U23 silver and most notably a 4x100m relay bronze at the 2007 World Championships. Later in the same year, his close battles with Bath training companion Jason Gardener over 60m culminated in him taking silver behind the Olympic gold medallist at the European Indoors.
Craig competes for Milton Keynes Athletics Club and lives and trains in Bath.
Craig was selected by Colin Jackson, silver medal winner for the 110 m Hurdles at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, to join the Atos Origin ‘Champion and Challengers’ scheme in 2007.
