Career Summary

Not many athletes have the chance to compete with Usain Bolt, but when Craig Pickering did this year at the IAAF Golden Spike competition in Ostrava, he finished second behind the world record holder.

Pickering has won medals at both junior and senior level, including the 2003 World Youth 100m bronze, European U23 silver and most notably a 4x100m relay bronze at the 2007 World Championships. Later in the same year, his close battles with Bath training companion Jason Gardener over 60m culminated in him taking silver behind the Olympic gold medallist at the European Indoors.

Pickering earned his place in the Beijing 100m and the 4x100m relay after a fine performance at the British Olympic trials.

He is hoping to compete in the European Championships in July and the Commonwealth Games in October.

Craig competes for Milton Keynes Athletics Club and lives and trains in Bath.
